NoRunDev

About me.

Who are you?

I’m a student. I’ve been repairing game consoles in my free time since mid-2024, and I still do. I wrote this program while I was doing that, and I work on it on my own, as NoRunDev.

Why NoRunDev?

NOR, the chip this whole program is about. Run, the one thing the console will not do when it reaches you. Dev, short for developer.

Read it in one breath and it is the job: making the NOR run again.

What started it?

A PS5 Slim with 3BOD. Its NOR was badly corrupted, and what stopped me was not the repair — it was that I could not lay my hands on a known-good dump to work from.

Why does this program exist?

Because once you have a dump, the rest of the job is blind as well. Every per-console value has to be carried across from the donor — serial, motherboard serial, board id, SKU, SoC id, the MACs — and getting one of them wrong is a console that still does not run. Nothing told you whether the file you started from was healthy, and nothing checked your work afterwards.

I decided to change that, one feature at a time, until it became what it is now. It took a great deal of work and a great many hours, and it is not finished: more will come.

Why is it paid?

Because weeks of real work and real dedication went into building this, and dedication alone does not cover a server bill: the machine that answers Validation, Repair and Regenerate is on, and costs money every month.

The licence pays for both — the time that keeps the program moving forward, and the server that keeps it running — not for features held back on purpose: every plan unlocks the whole program, and only the length changes.
